Privacy

Your data,
in plain words.

This practice runs on trust, so the way your details are handled should be as clear as the work itself. No hidden trackers, no data sold on, nothing collected that isn't needed.

Privacy policy

How your data is used.

Last updated 5 September 2026

The short version: you are only asked for what a reply, a comment thread or a newsletter actually needs. Nothing is sold, nothing is shared for advertising, and one email to info@mastertheself.studio gets your data changed or deleted.

01

Who is responsible

Master the Self Studio is run by Jordynn Watson in Tucson, Arizona, United States. She decides how and why the data described here is used, which under the GDPR makes the studio the data controller.

Questions, requests and complaints go to info@mastertheself.studio. You will get an answer within 30 days, usually much sooner.

02

What actually gets collected

The contact form asks for your first name, last name, email address, a subject and your message. Everything in that message is up to you, so please keep health details to the minimum you are comfortable putting in writing.

Leaving a comment under a journal post records your name, your email address and the comment itself. Your name and comment become public once approved. Your email address never appears on the site.

Subscribing to the newsletter records your email address and, if you give it, your first name.

The server keeps ordinary web logs: IP address, browser and device type, the page requested and the time of the request. These are what every web server writes in order to run and stay secure.

Your cookie choice is stored in your own browser, not on the server. There is no account system, no profile and no tracking pixel anywhere on this site.

03

Why it is collected

Messages are used to answer you and to arrange a conversation if that is what you asked for. The legal ground is your consent, and taking steps at your request before any agreement.

Comments are used to run the discussion under a post and to moderate it, so that the thread stays useful and free of spam. Every comment is checked before it appears.

Newsletter addresses are used for the newsletter and nothing else. You confirm the subscription by email first, and every message carries an unsubscribe link that works immediately.

Server logs are used to keep the site running, to spot abuse and to fix faults. The legal ground is the studio's legitimate interest in a site that works and is not being attacked.

04

The four cookie categories

Necessary. A small record of your cookie choice, plus whatever the server needs to serve a page and block abuse. These are always on, because without them the site cannot function. Nothing here identifies you.

Preferences. Remembers small choices you make, so the site does not reset them on every visit. Off until you turn them on.

Analytics. Anonymous usage counts that would show which pages are read and which are ignored. Off until you turn them on.

Marketing. Advertising and personalisation. Off by default, and at the time of writing nothing on this site uses them at all.

Only the necessary category is active today. Should that ever change, the panel will ask again before anything is set. You can reopen it from the button in the corner of any page and change your mind whenever you like.

05

Who else touches your data

The site and its content system run on a server hosted by OVH inside the European Union, so your data is stored in the EU even though the studio itself is in Arizona. Nobody outside the studio and its hosting provider has access to the database.

Newsletter delivery runs through MailerLite, which stores subscriber addresses in order to send the emails and handle unsubscribes. If you never subscribe, MailerLite never sees your address.

Nothing is sold, rented or traded. Data is disclosed to anyone else only where the law requires it.

06

How long it is kept

Messages are kept for as long as the conversation is useful, and are deleted on request. Approved comments stay with the post they belong to until you ask for them to be removed. Newsletter addresses stay until you unsubscribe, and unconfirmed sign-ups are cleared after 30 days. Server logs are kept short-term for security and diagnostics.

07

What you can ask for

You have the right to see what is held about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how it is used, and to receive it in a portable form. Where the basis is consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time, and doing so does not affect anything done before. These rights are given by the GDPR to visitors in the European Union and the United Kingdom, and the studio honours them for everyone who writes in, wherever they live.

Write to info@mastertheself.studio and say what you want. If you are in the EU or the UK and think something has gone wrong, you also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

08

A note on what this site is not

Coaching is not medical care, and this site is not a medical record system. Anything you send is stored on an ordinary web server with ordinary protections. Please do not send clinical documents, diagnoses or anything you would not want sitting in an email inbox.

09

If this policy changes

Any change appears on this page with a new date at the top. A change that affects what is collected or why will be announced before it takes effect, and where consent is required, it will be asked for again.
